Overview
DTU Informatics would like to invite applications for a 3-year PhD position starting September 15th 2010 or soonest possible thereafter. The project is financed by Unilever Research, Vlardingen Holland and DTU Informatics, Denmark.

Project Description
Anchored at the DTU Informatics Statistics Section the project will in close collaboration with Unilever Research, Vlardingen, Holland evaluate, develop and implement new statistical methodology for sensory and consumer studies, as a means of creating new insights from Unilever studies, and with particular focus on quantifying factors influencing sensory differentiation. The scientific focus will be on the combination of Thurstonian and statistical modelling for handling sensory and consumer data building on recent contributions by the DTU research group as illustrated by the recent R-packages sensR and ordinal.

Overview
The AUN/SEED-Net Project with support from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) provides scholarships for prospective applicants from AUN-SEED/Net Member Institutions to pursue doctoral degrees in engineering at one of the following Japanese Supporting Universities:
Hokkaido University, Keio University, Kyoto University, Kyushu University, Tokai University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Toyohashi University of Technology, University of Tokyo, Shibaura Institute of Technology, and Waseda University

The fields of study that can be supported by the AUN/SEED-Net are as follows:
