PhD student in Signal Processing for Efficient Power Amplifier Architectures

A PhD student position is opened to strengthen the DigiPA project of GHz Centre http://www.chalmers.se/ghz/EN/research/project-digipa. The position is at the Department of Signals and Systems, Chalmers University of Technology, within the Communication Systems group, in close cooperation with the Microwave Electronics Laboratory at the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience. There is also a PostDoc position announced related to the same position.

A variety of power amplifier architectures have emerged as possible candidates to address the need for global reduction of energy consumption in mobile networks. This poses new challenges on increased integration between software and hardware layers in the transmitters. This subject is also core of the research performed in the GHz centre DigiPA project, together with academic and industry partners. The research topic is therefore broadly about improving the efficiency and linearity of power amplifiers for future telecommunications infrastructure applications.
