The Department of Criminology invites applications from prospective PhD students for two studentships in Criminology commencing October 2010. One studentship is full-time and includes a stipend and tuition fees at the UK/EU rate over three years. The stipend is equivalent to that provided by the research councils, currently £13,290 for 2009/10, (but will be updated for 2010/11). Overseas applicants may be considered on a `reduced-stipend plus fee waiver` package. The second studentship is part-time and covers tuition fees (at the UK/EU rate only) over five years.

Genomic Medicine and Statistics

The 4-year programme will comprise a combined first year and a 3-year self directed research project. The first year will include taught modules and laboratory rotations designed to equip students with the knowledge to make an informed choice of doctoral project.

6 Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Digital Humanities at HUMlab-Umeå University, Sweden

Six international postdoctoral positions in the digital humanities are now available at HUMlab, Umea University, Sweden from September 1, 2010 (January 2011 may also be a possibility, please indicate if this is your preference).

The call is open, but 1-3 positions may be allocated to the areas of `media places`, `archeological landscape visualization`, and `internet and religion`. There are no teaching requirements associated with any of the positions.
