Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC)

The School of Chemical Engineering and School of Petroleum Engineering at the University of New South Wales has a significant research group headed by Prof. Dianne Wiley investigating the economics of capturing CO2 from industrial sources and injecting it into underground reservoirs in Australia. This research is part of the work of the Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies ("CO2CRC"), which is a joint industry / Australian Government sponsored programme that brings together the work of research institutions, Government agencies and private companies in Australia and overseas.

Overview
The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University invites applicants for research fellowships in plant science. Putnam Fellowships offer excellent opportunities for advanced research and study using the Arboretum`s living collections of trees and shrubs. Scientists and horticulturists with a PhD and who have identified a research project that would utilize the Arboretum`s living collections are encouraged to apply.

Putnam Fellows conduct basic and applied research in the plant sciences. The goal of the program is to facilitate the research use of the Arboretum`s living collections, thereby stimulating their use within the larger scientific community. The research topics of past Putnam Fellows have included taxonomy and systematics, physiological ecology, propagation, plant-insect and/or -pathogen interactions, and collections management. The Putnam Fellowship Program has attracted a diverse array of scholars, and many have gone on to be leaders in academia and public horticulture.

“Promoting Women in Science”

The Islamic Development Bank established the IDB Prize for Women`s Contribution to Development in 2006 in alignment with the recommendations of the IDB Women`s Advisory Panel. The Panel is composed of 12 prominent women recognized as leaders in their fields who advise the Bank on how to enhance women`s participation in the socioeconomic development process. The Prize is awarded annually in order to draw international attention to the vital role women play in developing their communities and the world.
