Postdoct position in Biomedical Engineering/Cardiovascular/Neurophysiology 2010 at Kyushu University

Overview
A postdoctoral position is currently available in the laboratory of Dr. Kenji Sunagawa at the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan. It has been well established that regulatory failure plays a central role in the pathogenesis of refractory cardiovascular diseases. We have been developing artificial devices to intervene the regulatory systems. The devices function as parts of physiological systems and restore normal function of the impaired regulatory systems. In this particular project, we will be developing a neuromodulator which reinstitutes disrupted autonomic balance in heart failure. Applicants need expertise in animal and/or human experiments and should have sophisticated knowledge in biomedical engineering in cardiovascular research.
