PhD position in statistical bioinformatics at Uhasselt and VITO
PhD student (statistical) bioinformatics
Hasselt University, in collaboration with Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO), has a position available for a PhD student in (statistical) bioinformatics.
The candidate will conduct research in statistical and (bio)informatics methods supporting the design and analysis of peptide centric mass-spectrometry experiments. The research will be situated in the context of the studies conducted at VITO. The candidate will be active in both institutes (50/50).
1 PhD student positions at Institute for Clinical Molecular Biology
We are one of the three largest university clinics in Germany and with more than 10,000 employees, the largest employer in the state of Schleswig-Holstein. We perform university medical research and teaching at more than 70 clinics and institutes at our medical faculties in Kiel and Lübeck.
The „Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft“ has approved the new collaborative research center SFB 877 (Proteolysis as a regulatory event in pathophysiology) to the Christian-Albrechts university, Kiel. Within the project (TP7): “Genetic variants in protein degradation pathways: from normal population variability to altered inflammatory responses in the intestinal tract”
Post-Doc Bioengineering Scientist at Kelly Scientific Resources
Kelly Scientific is seeking a Post-Doc Bioengineering Scientist - Rare Cell Isolation System Kelly Scientific is seeking a fresh post doc for a cellular diagnostic company located in the Texas Medical Center. The preferred candidate will have a unique industry post-doctoral opportunity to utilize their scientific and engineering skills in the environment of an innovative life science company. This person will have the responsibility of supporting the development of an innovative rare cell isolation system involving micofluidic flow and dielectrophoresis.
The right candidate will report to the VP of Product Development and work closely with senior research scientist, engineers, and technical directors to assist with experimental designs, project execution and generate formal reports. Computational fluid dynamic CFD analysis will be used to support refinement of fluid path design. Position will be a hands on role with extensive time in the laboratory designing and conducting experiments to evaluate new micofluidic, electronic and optically based designs utilizing surrogate and biological materials. This person will contribute to scientific abstracts and publications.
Postdoctoral Position in Cell Physiology at Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physioloy
Postdoctoral position in Cell Physiology at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology, Dortmund, Germany
A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the group of Professor Dr. Frank Wehner, Department of Systemic Cell Biology (Prof. Dr. Philippe Bastiaens) at the MPI in Dortmund until December 31st, 2012.
Our laboratory is studying the mechanisms of cell volume regulation and its role in proliferation vs. apoptosis. Special emphasis is given to channel mediated ion transport. The methods used include advanced fluorescence microscopy, scanning acoustic microscopy and electrophysiology, as well as biochemistry and molecular biology.
Ph.D. Fellowships in Elementary Particle Physics at Max Planck Institute of Physics (Werner Heisenberg Institute)
The International Max Planck Research School "Elementary Particle Physics - Theoretical, Experimental and Cosmological Frontiers" (IMPRS EPP) is a joint initiative of the Max Planck Institute of Physics (Werner Heisenberg Institute) and the particle and astroparticle physics groups of the Ludwig Maximilian University Munich and the Technical University Munich.
Since April 2005 the School has been offering excellent research opportunities to highly qualified doctoral students. Research fields covered by the School from both an experimental and a theoretical perspective include high energy particle physics, astroparticle physics, and cosmology.
