Overview
On behalf of the Government of Canada, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) undertakes research to achieve security of the food system, health of the environment and innovation for growth. Within this broad mandate, an important objective is to assess and to manage the risk to environmental quality and public health from agricultural contaminants that may be problematic for environmental or human health.

The successful candidate will conduct research on the fate and effects of veterinary and human pharmaceuticals entrained onto agricultural land through the application of animal or human wastes. Relevant areas of focus could include 1. Characterize the impacts of antimicrobial agents on soil and crop microbial communities including functional and community structure endpoints, abundance and characteristics of antibiotic resistant bacteria. 2. Characterize the pathways and mechanisms of biodegradation of selected antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals in environmental matrices.

Eurocancer Stemcell Training is a network gathering 9 laboratories of 6 member states at the highest level of cancer stem cell research. EuroCSC training offers the opportunity to young researchers to join an excellent training platform in this new area of Cancer Research.

An Early Stage Researcher fellowship position is available for a period of three years, tenable at Oxford University on a project entitled “Cellular origin and molecular determinants of leukemic stem cells”. The position will be based in the laboratory of Professor Sten Eirik Jacobsen and funded by the European Uni0n Research Framework Programme/Marie Curie Actions. This is part of an International Training Network whose central theme is called `Eurocancer Stemcell Training`.

Overview
The Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) was established as a research institute of the University of Queensland in 2003. The Institute is now operating out of a new state-of-the-art facility and houses 28 Principal Investigators with strong international reputations. The Institute is located at the University of Queensland, a Group of 8 (Go8) member.
