The Asia Research Institute is pleased to offer Ph.D. research scholarships from August 2011 in the following interdisciplinary areas:

  • RELIGION & GLOBALISATION IN ASIAN CONTEXTS
  • SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, AND SOCIETY
  • ASIAN URBANISMS
The PhD scholarship is to be taken up jointly with the appropriate discipline-based department. This would normally be with a department of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, but where appropriate could also be with the Faculty of Law, School of Business or School of Design & Environment at the National University of Singapore.

Overview
The Asian Development Bank-Government of Japan (ADB) Scholarship offers one location for study in the United States, at the East-West Center and the University of Hawai`i at Manoa, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The ADB scholarship provides support for graduate studies at the University of Hawai`i while living in residence and participating in the educational activities at the East-West Center.

Eligibility for an ADB Scholarship
Recipients of these highly competitive scholarships must be citizens of developing countries that are members of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and have the equivalent of a four-year bachelor`s degree and two full years of work experience. The ADB Scholarship is approved for study in architecture, business administration, economics, geography, law (LL.M. degree only), natural resources and environmental management, ocean and resources engineering, oceanography, Pacific Islands studies, public administration, sociology, tropical plant and soil science, and urban and regional planning.

PhD Scholarship Positions in Medical Imaging at Delft University of Technology

Overview
The Faculty of Applied Sciences is the largest faculty of TU Delft, with around 550 scientists, a support staff of 250 and 1,400 students. The faculty conducts fundamental, application-oriented research and offers scientific education at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels. The faculty is active in the fields of Life and Health Science & Technology, Nanoscience, Chemical Engineering, Radiation Science & Technology, and Applied Physics.

The Department of Radiation, Radionuclides and Reactors (www.rrr.tudelft.nl ) is located in the Reactor Institute Delft (RID). The department`s common focus is nuclear radiation and reactions. Although its areas of interest are varied, ranging from materials, sensors and instrumentation to energy, sustainable production and health, all the department`s research is related to radiation in some way. In experimental research, extensive use is made of the research facilities of the Reactor Institute Delft as well as of large, international research facilities.
