Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Science, Technology and Culture at University of Oslo

Overview
Applications are invited for a 2,5 year postdoctoral research fellowship (SKO 1352) within the science, technology and culture group at the Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture (TIK). For more information please see http://www.tik.uio.no/english/. The position will be part of a joint research project between TIK and SIFO (Norwegian institute for consumer research) which will explore the uses of Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) in society. In addition, the project aims to develop perspectives and methodologies for analyzing this new and emerging technology.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have both the ability to contribute to empirical studies and have a strong theoretical competence in science and technology studies (STS). The post-doc project should be closely linked to the overall research project (RFID, see below). The successful candidate must have experience from interdisciplinary research and must also be able to conduct research in a collaborative research environment.

[Sweden] Postgraduate position in Political science directed towards international climate policy at Lund University

Postgraduate position in Political science directed towards international climate policy at Lund University

Overview
The postgraduate position is part of the strategic research initiative Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in a Changing Climate (BECC), specifically the research theme on Governance and Economics of Natural Resources. This theme critically evaluates synergies and trade-offs between policies addressing climate change, biodiversity protection, forestry and ecosystem resilience as well as formulates policies and strategies that lead to an integrated policy management. Carbon accounting is a concept that draws attention to the conditions under which climate governance becomes possible. Carbon accounting highlights the necessity of the `counting of carbon` and the measures that enable stocks and flows of carbon to be taken into account. Carbon accounting is thus concerned with the ways in which carbon can be measured, quantified, modelled and statistically aggregated, for example in forest and soils, and the translation of this knowledge into international negotiations, policies and political institutions.
