Overv iew
The position is located within the antenna group at Department of Signals and Systems (S2). The antenna group of Prof Kildal is a major research group within two Antenna Systems research centers at S2: the industrially oriented Chase Antenna Systems Excellence center with 15 participating companies, and the strategic research center CHARMANT. Chase started in 2007 and lasts for 10 years with a total turnover of about 21 MSEK per year including in kind contributions from the companies.

The research areas of the antenna group is: characterization and design of small antennas for wireless terminals such as mobile phones, reverberation chamber measurement technology for wireless terminals, ultra wideband feeds for future radio telescopes, and innovative metamaterial-based gap waveguide technology for mm and submm waves.

German Government DAAD Scholarships for Postgraduate Courses with Relevance to Developing Countries

Overview

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports a range of postgraduate courses at German Universities which aim at providing academically educated young professionals from Developing Countries with further specialised studies.The typical scholarship holders will come either from public authorities, state or private companies concerned with national development policies and projects in technological, economic, agricultural and social fields. Therefore, apart from a degree relevant to the postgraduate course, it is required that candidates have at least two years of related professional experience in order to qualify for a scholarship.

Objective
Study scholarships are awarded to provide foreign graduates from developing or threshold countries of all disciplines with opportunities to complete a postgraduate or Master`s degree course at a state (public) or state-recognised German higher education institution and to gain a degree in Germany (Master`s/Diplom). Exceptions for doctoral studies in order to gain a university degree (PhD) in Germany are possible.
