GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EARTH, ENVIRONMENT AND BIODIVERSITY

The University of Milan announces a competition by selection on the basis of academic qualifications for the admission of non EU citizens to the following Research Doctorate/Ph.D. degree course:

GRADUATE SCHOOL OF MOLECULAR SCIENCES AND PLANT, FOOD AND ENVIRONMENTAL BIOTECHNOLOGY

The aim of the School is to train students to benefit from qualified research and design skills in the areas of innovative biotechnologies for the sector of plant production, for both nutritional and non-nutritional purposes, of nutritional and agro-nutritional biotechnologies, for the chemistry of the molecules involved in the agricultural and food industry and for the ecology of pest control and xenobiotics. The professional profiles thus trained can find employment in research, in the technology transfer of innovations in public and private research institutes, in firms producing biological raw materials, in biotechnological concerns in the agricultural and food industries, in concerns that preserve and process food products, in food safety and traceability, in the agro-chemical industry, in firms that produce technical supports for such activities and in environmental monitoring, rehabilitation and safety.

Norwegian Government Scholarships for Developing Countries 2012

Overview
The 2012-2013 Norwegian government provides students from developing countries in the South and countries in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe and in Central Asia with financial support to study for a degree in Norway under the Quota Scheme. The Quota Scheme currently provides funding for a total of 1,100 students, 800 of them from developing countries in the South and 300 from countries in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe and in Central Asia.

The main objective of the Quota Scheme is to contribute to capacity building through education that will benefit the home country of the students when they return. The Quota Scheme is also intended to strengthen relations between Norway and the selected countries and thus contribute to internationalisation at Norwegian institutions of higher education.
