Overview

The Medical Sciences Division is pleased to announce that 5 PhD Fellowships are available for the following 4-Year Wellcome Trust Doctoral Programme: Neuroscience

The 4-year programme will comprise a combined first year and a 3-year individual research project. The first year will include taught modules and laboratory rotations designed to equip students with the knowledge to make an informed choice of doctoral project.

Overview
The Bank of England is the central bank for the United Kingdom. Its core purposes are to ensure monetary stability and to support financial stability. In addition, it manages the UK`s foreign currency reserves, issues banknotes and acts as the bankers` bank.

The Bank provides a unique environment in which economic analysis and research inform policy at the highest level. The Monetary Analysis area provides key analytical support in the setting of monetary policy to help achieve the United Kingdom`s inflation target. The Bank`s Financial Stability area takes a strong role in designing measures to build a more resilient financial system in the wake of the crisis and is at the forefront in developing a new macroprudential risk assessment and policy framework in preparation for the formation of the new Financial Policy Committee.

Overview
PhD positions will be available at Bio-Inspired Robotics Laboratory, Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ), Switzerland. We seek strong candidates who are interested in novel mechanical designs and exploration of unconventional materials for bio-inspired robots.

Requirements
Applicants should have master degrees in one of the following disciplines, but degrees from the other areas are also considered if relevant.
