Overview

The International Liaison Committee of the Japan Sociological Society (JSS) is pleased to announce its fifth annual Travel Grant competition for starting scholars living outside of Japan. The objective of this grant is to support up to 6 international sociologists who will present papers and participate in the JSS annual meeting in Japan. Each scholar selected will be awarded 80,000 yen to support accommodation and travel expenses.

1. Eligibility requirements:

To be eligible for support, the international applicant must:
(1) be currently living and working (or studying, if the applicant is a graduate student) outside of Japan. Scholars living in Japan, Japanese citizens, and permanent residents of Japan are NOT eligible to apply.

The Professor Stuart Wilson Scholarship

Overview

Two scholarships are available, one for an overseas fee-paying student and one for a UK/EU fee-paying student, for the full-time MA South East Asian Studies at SOAS for the academic session 2011/12.

The scholarship for the overseas fee-paying student is intended to off-set the tuition fees at the overseas rate. The scholarship for the UK/EU fee-paying students is intended to off-set the tuition fees at the UK/EU rate*. (*Please note that this scholarship does not cover the Equal Learning Qualification - ELQ fee. Due to a change in Government funding policy if you are applying for a Masters degree and already have an equivalent or higher qualification or expect to complete an equivalent or higher qualification while studying for a Master`s degree at SOAS, you will be liable to higher fees)

Overview

The University of Tsukuba invites applications from international students for the 2011 University of Tsukuba “Tsukuba Scholarship” as per the guidelines outlined below. The University of Tsukuba offers programs through which international students studying at the University of Tsukuba at the undergraduate level can earn their academic degrees by taking classes only in English (hereinafter referred to as “Degree Programs in English”).

1. Purpose

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support for exceptional international students who are applying to enter the Degree Programs in English at the undergraduate level, thereby contributing to the cultivation of people who can make future contributions to international society.
